Congratulations Kim, Taz and all! Very, very nice accomplishment. -- the silver and Spruce Meadows are fine -- great in fact -- as intermediate goals -- long term though --which Olympics are you planning for?!
We need another Tk in the Oympics and representing the US.
Seriously, he looks super and you and Helmut are doing a great job with him. Congratulations and best wishes for the future with your boy.

BIG CONGRATS! TAZ looks fantastic!!! Let's get some good jumper mares in foal to him! Maybe one of his kids will hit the Olympic ring! Go Traks!

KIM WROTE: You sound just like Helmut, who's first comment was, "Super. What does he need to do to win Silver?" He's crystal clear on what's needed for next step, and we will support this; now it's just up to Taz.
I think TAZ HAS spoken! Hang in there Kim, everything you`ve been waiting for so patiently seems to be coming your way. I`ve never heard of a perfectly paved road, there are always a few bumps... So when there seems to be an obstacle in your way, just treat it like a jump.....and get over it TO THE OTHER SIDE!!!
SPRUCE MEADOWS!!! Just reading it in the post made my heart JUMP! Holy cow, NOW that is pressure!
I can`t begin to think of the word Olympics, I think I`d want to faint! lol!
I guess I`m going to have to put some money aside and meet you at Spruce Meadows. I already know what my job is there....sit, watch, get up, go to the bar, get Kim a drink, sit, watch, get up, go to the bar, get Kim a drink, REPEAT!!!
I think at some point we are going to have to regroup and figure out how to get those sponsors so a TK has a shot for the Olympics...yes, I said OLYMPICS!!! ok, gotta go sit down......omg, olympics......

That's EXACTLY what your job will be, Patty! Oh, that and find me a nice, dry spot to roll out my sleeping bag, since all my $$ will be spent just getting him there (if the cost of gas doesn't go down, we'll need sponsors just to get Taz and Titulus anywhere outside of Lamplight or Ledges - the cost of Diesel is insane right now!)

Kim, do you think you`ll be going to Spruce Meadows for next year.
It honestly depends on the finances. The only reason to go wb to compete in the Gran Prix events where you might be able to earn enough in prize $$ to pay some of the costs of such a venture.
To compete in stakes classes (basically prize $$ classes @ Level 5 and above), a $175 - $200 nomination fee is required for eligibility. Depending on the prize $$ offered, class fees are $350 for a Welcome Stakes, and $550 - $900 for GP. BTW, to compete in Grand Prix, you MUST also enter the Welcome Stakes. So for a 1wk show, you're spending a min. of $1,000 in class fees.
This is before you add stabling, hauling and riding fees (which, thank goodness are reasonable w/Helmut), so you can see why the cost of hauling so far would be a major factor in the decision-making.

Congratulations to Blitz & Taz!!!! This is just fabulous.
We are expecting a Blitz embryo transfer foal next year out of Ala. Yeah!!! Apparently, in addition to being an athlete, he makes big healthy babies (or embryos) too. My vet said the embryo was so big that he could see it coming out when he was flushing and didn't even need to use the scope. Next comment was something like "It was so big I could almost see hair on it already."
Thank you for keeping us posted on all this wonderful TK news. We've got a great TK community here.
