I was wondering if anybody else on here has a Schonfeld baby. I know he is a popular Stallion around here(Ohio area) but was wondering if there were some foals of his out in the west?

I have two Schonfeld daughters; an Anglo and a purebred out of a Pregelstrand daughter. The Anglo is bright bay and the purebred is black. Both have wonderful dispositions, excellent bone and feet, and alot of substance. Schonfeld puts on great necks and hindquarters. The Anglo should mature to around 16.2. The purebred is going to be close to 17 hands. Schonfeld's Anglo babies excel in the hunter ring but he has also produced many talented in-hand and dressage horses too. My Anglo moves really well with alot of suspension and can definitely do more than just hunter. The purebred is just two and is currently all out of whack with her growth since she is going to be a large girl, so it is hard to tell. Both of mine are like big puppy dogs for the most part. The Anglo is super sweet. The purebred is a little more suspicious about new people and new experiences. Just a bit more opinionated, but she is two coming three, so a typical teenager.

My PSB, TB mare is going to foal a Schonfeld baby in May. I'm thrilled (hope everything goes OK). She is a gray with black mane and tail, so I'm hoping for a gray baby. I've read what nice things others have said about Schonfeld. I'm learning so much from this site! By the way, I live in Illinois; not quite west, but not east either.

I live in Illinois about 25 miles from St Louis, MO. Besides my in-foal mare, I have an almost 2-year old Hennessey filly. She is a dream to work with and has a very nice trot. My farrier says he believes she'll reach 17 hands. She's 15.2 now and she won't be 2 until March.

Do you have any photos of her? I love to see other babies.. My boy is already 16.1-2 ish, he will be two in march. I have no doubt he will reach 17 hands... I have some photos of him up on my website. www.sixpoundfarm.com Click either sales or progeny.
I'd love to see your girl! You can email me privately if you wish. sixpoundfarm@yahoo.com

How are your Hennessey fillies bred on their damlines? How are their feet? I am just comparing the feet on of the get on these 2 stallions.

I know you inquired about the filies, but my gelding has very good feet. He is half TB, and mom has decent feet. The shoer always comments on how good his feet are. The were a bit cracked and chipped over the summer when it was really dry, but never too bad.

My Hennessey filly has good solid feet with a good hoof wall. She has slightly long pasterns so she sees my farrier for a trim every month. Her dam's sire was Erzsand; imported from Germany, and he stood at Vonda Warner's farm in Colorado. He's on the "Past Stallions" list at the ATA web site.
