of him, and his genes have a role to play, though he is a
testament to the fact that distance riding can be very good for horses.

Good for Elmer.  A friend of mine had a Trakehner mare from a young filly in Germany until her death at the age of 32 here in the States.  I saw her at about age 31 and she still had a beautiful trot.
