From the 2004 crop: Catch the Wind by Windfall out of our TB mare Cinderella xx by Sincerement xx. She was recently inspected into the Verband main mare book and I wanted to share a couple of photos from that event. Mare is under saddle since last year and is in preparation for the Projekt Nurmi Performance Test in October, a full performance test for event horses (all genders).

Nice mare Maren. I love her up-hill build, and very obvious engagement of her hind end. I bet her canter and trot scores were very good. Good luck with her, and it will be nice to see a quality mare do well at the eventing test.

Looking at those photos, it's easy to see why good TB blood is so necessary to the breed. Congratulations, Maren.

Thank you, her trot and canter scores were both 7s. And there's something ot be learend from that.
This mare has wonderful action and very actuve hind end. She has very little movement over her back (shorter, more square frame) and on the triangle, she lacks the impulsion when trotted in hand that they are looking for. She is clearly the model of horse that is a riding horse before she is an in hand winner - her breeding highlights exacly what she is good at and what we bred her for. So I'm not even one bit "disappointed" by her 7s, I would probably have given her the sme thing. She moves a lot better under saddle and that is what counts in my book.
Also, free jumping is a part of the mare inspections now in Bavaria, and I heard from various sources that she was exceptional in tersm of scope, power, nerv and intelligence (these sources do not include my family who may be just a tee bit biased ). I'm very happy with that.
She is also a great example to highlight stamong mares. Since mares have so litte numbers of offspring it's really tough to say what exactly they stamp in their foals, many have a number of wonderful offspring that are very different individually. Cinderella xx was already a mother of 6 when I met her and bought her. 6 Oldenburg foals, 6 foals like clones, huge bodies, huge shoulder, shorter neck, nice type, medium-framed, excellent jumpers, normal movers. We got two foals out of her, this one and a now yealring colt by EH Herzruf. The Windfall mare is again a clone of the mother - also because Windfall and Cinderella are similar in type, body structure and muscle mass. It's important to note that influence through the dam, because on day, Callas will have foals, and already I have a pretty good idea of what they look like. We'll most likely aim for a stallion that again, is very similar in terms of body size, frame, movement and jump. If we were breeding right now, I'd probably go for something like EL Greco, Octavio or Laurel. Food for thought

Maren, I'm curious about the title "American daughter in Germany". Was this mare bred in America?

Joy, sorry, only now saw this. No, she was bred in Germany, but her dad is now an "American", so I figured she can be called "American daughter" Her mom's British, imported from UK in the early 90s.

All the best to you and your mare. I cringe a little when I see eventing in relation to horses because of all the accidents lately. You do have a wonderfully moving mare.
