Hi! Has anyone had this done to thier horse? If so, what was your experience? Thank you for anyone's input.

Confinement, or restriction of movement of any kind, is contrary to the horse's nature - after all, he is a creature who is used to running free, moving at will and who equates restriction of any kind to danger.
I have had acupuncture and chircopratic work done on most all my horses. I see a better result with chricopatic work, but I believe that the acupuncture is good on older set in injures. My 6 yr old who is 17.2 seems to always have something out of alignment and the chricoprator (who also does acupuncture) prefers chircopratic work on him. Use a DVM only!
I have not heard of aqua acupuncture unless it has something to do with what is used at the injection site.
Thank you WWF. My boy is also 17.2h and will be 5 at the end of the month. I will definitely ask my vet about chiropractic work on him, he seems a bit sore behind the saddle which I believe is causing him to be a little reluctant.

I have had both acupuncture and chiropractic done on all of my horses. I do chiropractic regularly starting with when they are young to make sure that they grow straight and strong and also when I feel that the horse has "tweeked" itself or been in an accident... such as pulling when tied, flipped over in the pasture, fallen etc. I also do chiropractic when the horse's way of going changes suddenly or they suddenly get "girthy". My experience with acupuncture is with a mare that slipped down a hill in the mud and severely twisted her sacral joint. She was "girthy" when brushed so I knew she had hurt herself, I used a vet/chiropractor/accupuncturist and he did a great job. I will say however, that the adjustment was large and the mare needed a few days off to let her body resettle.
I have never heard of Aquapuncture, but I have heard of aqua-tredding a horse on an aqua tredmill? Best of luck with your boy. If he is back sore and young, chiropractic should help him significantly. My horses like the therapy so well that they will stand in line waiting for their turn for the chiropractor!
