Well, I weaned my five 2007 foals last weekend! All went well, and the babies were only concerned for the first 24 hours or so, and now they are all settled in and have formed their own little "herd"! It is amazing how different they all look! Their personalities are so different, too! Aimee was herd boss yesterday, but today she seems to be struggling for control with Scooter. Honestly, I think everyone knows that the red-headed half-arabian filly will eventually win out, but he's trying.

So cute Joie! I weaned the princess Sunday (aka Emma LOL). Mom could have cared less - she was soooo ready for the baby to be off her. EMMA though was most upset that the "milk bar" was no longer at her beck and call!  After stomping her feet and giving a few hard bucks she setteled in with Buck (aka babysitter extrodinaire) and the preg pony broodmare, Angel.

Too funny! Emma sounds like a princess! I am partial to princesses, myself! Aimee is a total princess, and I can't decide if I want to keep her for myself or shoot her! 
My mommas didn't really give a hoot either. Well, Ada seemed to care for about an hour, and then they were all out in the pasture eating "unencumbered". The first night they called back and forth a bit, but luck was on my side and it was REALLY windy Saturday and Sunday, so I don't think as much of the sound was audible all the way across the farm as it would have been on a calm evening. All in all we're "so far, so good"!

Oh she IS a total princess - takes after her mom!  After the little temper tantrum both mom and daughter have been fine - Cory is more concerned about her girlfriends than her daughter (except she was wishing she would nurse the other night thanks to the milk build up, but now that that is going away we're all good again). I have them in paddocks next to each other and in stalls next to each other at night so there isn't much screaming at all... weaning that way has always worked best for me (and we are only a couple of week soff of 6 months old...). I do envy you having so many babies to keep each other occupied though! Next year....
