This is Taz's Knabstrupper fillly, Tzarina (a.k.a. Zoe).  Took photos of all the girls today and got a good one of Zoe, so thought I'd share.

They are unusual, and I'm not sure exactly what this 'pattern' is called (so don't laugh), but think it's snowcap.  Still learning all the variations - didn't even know what a Knabstrupper was until 2 yrs. ago when they won the breeding to Taz in a SSA.

Here's one w/more of her body shown.

I love her head and the "tiger striping."  I think she is a beautiful horse.  Does she belong to you?  Looks like she's standing on your property.

I can see why some people will probably take her as an Appaloosa ! This is really flashy and so special !

Otherwise her conformation and head set are beautifull; a really nice looking filly !

Congrats !

Since I first heard of Knappstruppers, I've suspected that the original Appy stock came from these bloodlines.  Otherwise, I can't think where those spotted horses that the Nez Perce bred originated.

She really is a nice looking filly.

Joy, only a few people are discovering now what horse's breed were imported 300 years ago in NA.
I found an Andalousian stallion for sale in Montreal, around 1813 !!!!

Thanks for all the nice comments.  I now realize why so many people breed for "color" - there's not a single person who comes to our house that isn't fascinated by her color & markings.

She's still owned by the breeders, but you're right, she IS on my property.  We finally got fencing up @ the new place and brought Sayyida (my yearling filly out of Schoene Symponie) and her best friend, Zoe home.  The first day Zoe jumped a 4'6" gate to go see our neighbor's horses.  After bringing her back, I googled her dam's pedigree and found thru her dam's sire the following bloodlines: Abglanz, Poet xx and Pomeranets ox (sire of Hockey II).  Yep, this one's gonna jump!

She's just Daddy's little girl  Grin

I meet both Kim's little girls in person. Made it all the more exciting to realize I had a little Taz girl in my own barn. Both Sayyida and Zoe are lovely fillies. Zoe's color is the icing on top of the quality!!

I hope you get to buy her.  She is so beautiful and showing so much talent too.  After a jumping career, I see Hirtentanz, Windfall, or Horalas in her future.  Will you have to build special fencing for her?

helloagain - you misunderstood. I actually have a weanling filly by Taz out of my mare Sommer Schwalbe. Same cross as my now 3 year old gelding Sommer's Knight.

Just commenting on the quality that Taz is producing  Grin  Wink and glad to have a future Taz mare in my barn.

StarryNight I'm happy you have a filly by Taz; he's a wonderful horse.  Actually, I was asking Kim if she was going to buy Zoe.

Well I'm totally in the dark here. Zoe, from the first picture, seems to have the white ring around at least one eye, and at her stage of growth she's got the big hip, I would swear she's an Appaloosa what with their totally dominating QH infusion. But I'm fascinated by the possibility that this pattern is the foundation of the Appaloosa. Does she have a whispy tail? Striped hooves? Other appy traits? She is a beautiful, correct looking filly.
Blessings,

As a matter of fact she does have stripey hooves.  Good call, Steve!  Her dam's tail was very wispey, but she's sort of in-between.  Definitely fuller than the other KN mares @ the breeder's, but not as full as my full TK yearling.  So the answer probably is yes, there are multiple shared traits . . . .and her bone is HUGE compared to my filly.  Here's a link to the dam's sire - who apparently was quite 'old-style' in build and has WILD coloring!

Zoe is much more beautiful than Apollon.  For my taste, he has taken color to the extreme.  I'd guess you'd say Zoe got the best of both worlds.

Interesting that Apollo is half-Trak himself!  So, Zoe actually has quite a high percentage of Trak in her?  I really like this coloring too, no idea what it is called though.

I agree, helloagain.  I'm not crazy about Apollon's coloring, but I really like Zoe's.  His type of coloring would be called leopard in the Appy world.  Her's would be midway between leopard and blanketed.
