I have a Trak/TB filly that is growing fairly slowly and was wondering if her sire's line is slow maturing or if she's just going to be smaller than she should be because her dam was 16 years old and a maiden when she conceived her. Her dam is 16.1 and her sire is 16.2. She is 13.3 hands at 1 year 8 months old. Her sire is Puszta's Diamant by Tizian (who is by Harnisch) out of Puszta by Koran. Mare family is No. 17 - Pelargonie 692. Any info. on these lines would be appreciated. I have also attached a picture of my filly at 1 year 4 months old. She is very solid and grows very uniformly. She looks like a small horse, not a gangly yearling.

I LOVE Trakehners!

There is a great article on the Pelargonie lines written by Connie Kempter of Rappenhof Stud on her website www.vadesign.com/Rappenhof .
The Pelargonie lines are known for their great dispositions and wonderful movement. These lines produced Peron and Partout.
I have a Putza granddaughter, Phantyne. She is 16.1 1/2 and has an 8 month old colt by Stiletto who stands 14.2hh. The only other Pelargonie lines (other than Putza lines) that I know of in America are the Palma Nigra lines in Montreal. To my knowledge, this line matures at a normal rate for Trakehners.
Hope this helps, Eileen
