Our Arabian mare Madelaina (Fagir) had a lovely chestnut colt by our stallion Deacon last night. I'm quite happy with the little man and look forward to seeing what we get with next years foal crop. I plan to present Deacon the the CTHS next fall. This little guy needs a name so if you have and 'M' suggestions please post them. Here's a couple of photo's includin his first time standing.

Thanks ES! Actually he was born at 11:45, so maybe I could incorperate Midnight into his name. His Dam Maddie is a Canadian Trak approved Arab mare by Fagir (he was passed his 100 day test in Germany with the warmbloods and came to Canada in his late teens when he was approved with the CTHS) She was a riding horse for years, showing on the Arab circuit and then used as a school horse. Deacon is by Eligius out of Domane by Antritt. He was to be his breeders next stallion but unfortuneatly injured himself as a youngster and is not riding sound. Since arriving here last fall we had a main inspector look at him. He quite liked him and encouraged us to get some foals on the ground and then present him for approval. So, the plan is to present him in the fall of 2008. I have one mare confirmed in foal right now and 4 more are ready to be checked this week. So we should get a good cross section of foals to be evaluated. There are some pics of Deacon on our website at www.freewebs.com/roppelstables I really need to get some updated shots of him out on the grass and a summer conformation shot, one of many things on my loooong list of 'things to do'!
Thanks for the name suggestions Joy. I think this is one of those foals I'm going to have to wait and think on for a while. Usually I have name picked out, but I really thought he was going to be a she this year.

Well, he finally did get a name, thanks to my horsey neighbour. Master Copy RS. He is quite stamped by his sire thus far and with the name I certainly hope he lives up to his potential. Here's a couple of recent photo's of "Copper".
