There are quite a number of factors that enter into a horse's size, Trakehner or otherwise. However, I can say from 17+ years experience in breeding, training and riding Trakehners, IMO, they are typically later "bloomers," so to speak than other warmbloods. My Trakehner mare went through her final growth "spurt" in her 8th year, as did my big boy - he is now 10 (18 hands - didn't plan it that way ). My stallion is only 7 and he just went through another growth spurt himself, really shooting up more through the shoulders - quite amazing actually. I think by and large, however, they will reach the majority of their height by the time they are 5-6 years, possibly younger. But, as I said, I've seen some pretty hefty "spurts" well into their 8th year. "Luck of the draw," I suppose. Best wishes.
