Boy time flies !!!! already 2 yrs for that big bugger. 16 hands already.
I see him in eventing or good hunter. I am going to back him lightly this fall and I don't know what bloodlines trend in him is showing up. From what I am doing right now with him, he shows great desire to learn and execute properly everything.
Here some pics :

Can someone comment ?
Best regards,

My! He certainly is a big strapping fellow, very nice. But here comes my strong leanings--16 hands or not, he's still a baby, and I wouldn't back a baby, lightly or not, until 3 y.o. or later. The knees may be closed, but the back and other plates are not. Please don't rush your boy.

Joy, I agree. I don't even lunge him and have no intend to do so. This is useless for the moment.
He is developping nicely, playing with his buddies, enjoying large pasture right now.
I like him a lot; he has such a good nature . Ducati is 16.3 hands, my mare Leena is 16 HH so baby will finish probably in between.
Backing process is more a mental thing for me, more acceptance than everything else. I would not like to end up with a resistant horse ! I know too many of them. My goal is keeping them happy, learning and accepting my demands. A little at the time.
I have cancer right now, so no strenght to oppose which is a very very good thing.

He is beautiful and looks from the pictures to have good conformation. I too wouldn't start any backing until your handsome boy was past 3 years old.

Thanks !!!
He grew a lot in his pasturns and still has a bigger butt than shoulders. From these pictures taken in end of may to October, he will change a lot and through winter too.
I am happy with him, with his character; in the futur years, he'll be a lot of fun to ride. I did not see a lot of Ducati's offspring so I thought must be fun to give an update on this one. My mare Leena is a swiss warmblood cross with excellent jumping bloodlines.
