I love Trakehners!

Ada GS had a lovely, tall dark and handsome BAY SABINO colt (please, God, let him not grey out!) Friday evening. It was a fairly eventful delivery, and in honor of his foaling attendact he is named "Adrien". It was MORE than luck that the woman hauling my stallion home, Adreinne Brant, happened to arrive late, and therefore be there when Ada finally went down. She was straining very hard and NOTHING was presenting, and her water hadn't broken. After a while the mare was pretty exhausted, so Adreinne got right in there to check on her progress. The water broke, but then the foal was presenting upside down. SO, Adreinne had me get Ada up, pushed him back in, and turned him enough so she could do the rest on her own. It was mere seconds afterwards that we had a big, strapping colt! He seemed HUGE, until I saw him next to Huston and Scooter the next day He IS a big colt. But I think it must be a breed trait!

He is a handsome fellow! Congratulations! Is his sire Ferrari? Has he been, or do they plan to present him for approval?

Wow, quite an ordeal. Congratulations on a wonderful outcome and someone was definitely watching out for you that such an experienced horsewoman was there to help you sort this one out.
He's a handsome fellow and very appropriately named for his guardian angel!

Yes, he is chunky...and I was very fortunate to have had help. VERY fortunate, as my vet didn't arrive from his other call until almost an hour after my call.
I am adding a few more photos...Adrien out at pasture with mom, and Scooter and Huston at almost 3 weeks old. The flies have been awful, and little Adrien looks just SO cute scratching at them!
BTW. Adrien's sire is Hilton GS. (Huston is by Kougar Von C and Scooter is by Tycoon).

He really is beautiful, and neither he nor mom seem worse for wear for what they went through. God was surely with you, your mare, and that colt. So happy everything turned out so well.

My friend sent me these pictures she took of my baby, Lucky (Adrien FLF). He is a 3 YO Trakehner colt, and my pride and joy.

He has been in basic training with her for the past 2 months, and she even has him going reliably under saddle W-T for me so I can start riding him a bit myself this summer and fall.

I can't believe that he looks so different in just three short years! They grow up so fast!!!
