I love Trakehners!
|
I don't know how many of you saw Meshak and I's trials and tribulations from a year ago. Good news is that he and I are still a team. Better news is that we are going to a trainer and instruchtor (after forever) whom stryder knows as she took Lace (Meshak's half sister) there for training and has be intrumental in all the good that has happened to Meshak and I. I have pulled every trick in the book to keep Meshak. The only people who came out to look at him wanted to "flip" him and I just couldn't stand someone taking my horse for 6 months and then turning around and selling him. So I took him off the market and persevered. The course we are going to (together) is a very long (over a year) full time professional student training program. My faimily, who has never supported or understood my connection with horses, has decided that they are going to send us both, which came as more of a shock than you'll ever know. The only one who has seen me ride is my mother and that was just last summer on Lace.
When we come out of school I can finally teach as I've always wanted to, in the WAY I've always wanted to. I just can't believe it. I've know now for a few weeks and it just won't settle in that our lives are going to change so much. (He has no IDEA just how much LOL). We are still so closely bonded that after a workout I take everything off and can just walk around the arena (with no one in it of course) and he follows me around untils he's cool.
Classical Dressage has always been a passion for me and now I'll learn from one of the best. Here I am almost 42 and my life is finally going in the way I'd almost given up on. I want to Thank stryder from the bottom, middle and top of my heart, here in public, for all the support and brainstorming and Oh just everything she has done for us since she and Lace became partners. I really couldn't have gotten this far without you. Thank you for your support during the bad times and the good.
I hope can keep you here updated on how things will go for us in the future. and I just can't WAIT!!!!!!

Elara, Sometimes there really is heaven on earth. Your story is so inspirational for me. Horses can totally transform our lives, and when we hold to a vision of transformation it's just incredible. God bless you and keep at it, I too will give it that little extra push against work, family somewhat, etc. to get to that place with my horse that's beyond explanation. Thanks, Steve Samples +

Thank you so much for your good wishes and support. I still have to pinch myself every day when I wake up to make sure it's not a dream. I'm more fired up than I've been since Meshak and I first met and I recognized in him the same spirit of not giving up that I have (though there have been times that I just couldn't see a way out.) My faith has been restored that things that are meant to be find a way to happen. I was reading a Dressage Today article on older dressage horses today from a past issue and I realized that by the time he and I are to the level of most other riders we both are probably going to fit in that catagory LOL. Better late than never. I'm off to the barn now, Thank you again, this board has been a lamp in the darkness for me even when I've been away for a while.

I love my Trakehner!

Thank you for the inspiration. I am sitting here tonight trying to figure out how I can make the impossible possible. I am fighting to keep my precious Abby in my life.
She is all I have left after a bitter divorce took my farm and other horses a few years ago. Now it looks as though I may have to part with her. Please keep me in your prayers that I may find a way to keep my best friend. Thank you and God bless.

WendiK, I know this sounds simplistic, but the most important thing you can do to keep Abby is believe it will happen. That sets your subconscious mind to work creating and recognizing new ways to accomplish that. I believe it also sets into action energetic forces that draw to you whatever you need to make it happen. If you believe in the results, the means will present themselves.

So much to learn!
|
I can't quite describe how excited Elara is about this opportunity, and the support she's finally getting from her family. Being able to talk with her about it, well, she's almost giddy!
Meshak -- well he doesn't even know HOW much his life will change, but he's up to the task. Elara has been up to see a couple of my lessons, and I'm confident she'll do great. This trainer isn't always easy to work with, because he challenges many of our assumptions about horses and really engages them as thinking, responsive teammates.
I've felt fortunate to be able to work with him. Just a couple weeks ago he received a ringing endorsement from Phillipe Karl. Elara and I are lucky he's nearby and willing to work with mere mortals. I can't wait until Elara is in full-time training. She'll finally get the tools she needs to be the wonderful teacher she's meant to be.
Lace has progressed so far in the four months she spent with Craig. I think Meshak will be a very fast learner.
Yep, it's happy news all the way around!
WendiK, I hope you find a good resolution, too. It would very difficult to lose someone you obviously love so much, and is such an important part in your life.
