Dear all, I am very grateful to Ingrid who found my e-mail address in the old forum and informed me of this great new forum. I have been desperate to find you all back and was quite sad not being able to read Maren's and Erhard's outstanding and always inspiring replies. I write articles on horse breeding myself and I must say that I have always learned a lot about the Trakehner from you guys. Perhaps you even remember me One of my Danish Warmblood mares was expecting a Latimer foal and I was looking for another trakehner stallion to breed, this time jumping blood, and some other day I will tell you how it all ended To cut a long story short: we got a huge Latimer colt in May this year, black without a single white hair and we are quite pleased with him although he is the kind of foal that grows more charming with age. Latimer did improve the neck and he has passed on very good conformation - except that the colt stands very closely on his hind legs. I guess other Latimers are also a bit narrow behind? Anyway, this was just to say that I am happy to be back and I will need lots more advice when having to select a Trakehner stallion again in Spring. Best regards

Hey, Thomas - I too have a Latimer foal, she will be two next month. Yes, she stands close behind, but we'll see how this works out in the coming years. Her neck and back are great, good conformation and the temperament is better than I could wish for. She is a brown/black with a Latimer star and small snip, one hind sock on same as he, same height. I have heard he doesn't throw his movement unless the dam has it. What is your experience with this? My filly can move, but so could the dam. I have some Latimer straws and am still doing research to decide which mare to breed him to. Mare I bought straws for doesn't have much of a trot, so I guess I've tossed that idea. Do you have any experience with his offspring out of mares w/out movement? Appreciate any in put here
