I've been watching the TV show Dressage Unlimited on RFDTV for a couple of years now. They've recently started giving the breed and limited pedigree info on show horses. One of the leading competitors in Europe is Gribaldi, whom they call a KWPN stallion. I thought "Hum, there's a TK stallion with the same name!". But when they gave his pedigree as by Kostolany out of anTK stall Ibikus mare I was confused. That is the pedigree of the TK stallion. What gives? Is he double registered and they're not noting his TK status? I'm usually pleased to learn how much TK blood is in horses identified as Hanoverian or whatever, but to not recognize a pure TK is almost insulting? Am I missing something here? Blessings, Steve Samples +
Yes, Gribaldi is Trakhener. Gribaldi was the 1996 Champion at his stallion inspection in Neumünster.
The KWPN have proclaimed Gribaldi a Keur stallion and is approved for breeding KWPN, Trakehner & Oldenburg.
This is not to be confused that he is infact a true Trakehner. That show you saw that said he was KWPN should only have refered that he was approved for breeding. Very poor on their part and I too think that was insulting!

Confinement, or restriction of movement of any kind, is contrary to the horse's nature - after all, he is a creature who is used to running free, moving at will and who equates restriction of any kind to danger.
