Congrats!  Send pics as soon as you are awake enough to.

I'm eagerly watching for first foal of the spring around these parts.  It's a sign, like buds on the trees and geese flying north.  No foals seen yet, but this morning, I noticed that one breeding farm on my drive to church has moved one of their preg mares from the preg mare field into the smaller maternity paddock where they put them one or two at a time to actually foal.  So maybe I'll get a foal fix soon.

My own foal's not due until April, but Missy is suddenly really picking up weight the last few weeks after being very trim throughout.  My mom said this morning, "Maybe it's twins."  Ack!  No, no, no.  Shouldn't be.  Can't be.  We checked.  One foal at a time, please.

Great pictures - thanks so much for sharing!

yep, angela, it is SOOOOO nice to sleep through the night, what a treat.  I think it was you who wanted to see the mare, so I'm attaching a picture of her here as well (she's 20 years old and retiring this year to a life of leisure and weekend trail riding).  I'm still trying to get movement shots, but this little guy is too fast for me.  In the meantime, here's one of mom and one of the colt standing.  Colt doesn't have a name yet - any ideas, we need an F name!!!  Help!!!

Your mare seems like a proud mommy! Congrats on the cute little guy, he's adorable.

Hi Lara,
he is a beauty, and a black one too, and I like his mom a lot, thanks for the pic.
Names. He is such an angel. Maybe a "Fairy Angel" ? (for both of his parents!)
or a "Fancy Angel" ? I like the name "Follow Your Heart".
You will tell us his name, will you?

One of my mares, Tangente (Heimherr/Fabian) is going to foal next week I think, she is far gone, big udder, softened back ...
I will tell....

Lara - beautiful pair!  Your mare does not look a day over twelve, are you sure you want to retire her???  I have not read through the posts yet, but is this guyer a keeper or for sale?

F names, I'll have to think about that!
