Dressage Silver Medalist Clinic

Just thought I would share some photos of my lovely boy in the Andrea Breese clinic. Makes me proud when spectators ask what breed and their reaction when I say "Trakehner".

It was early May. I have another clinic this weekend but it has been a little cool here lately, so may need a light fall jacket since my time is early morning. We've had a pretty awful summer, lots of rain (lots of mosquitos) and only managed to swim in the pool a couple of times :-( But hopefully, we'll have a late winter! Here's hoping Cheesy
Thank you for the nice comments! One more pic added.

Isn't that the best?  Thanks for promoting Trakehners in such a positive manner.  Lovely boy.

Thanks, it is the best! There are alot of DQ's in the area that frown upon TKs but I dare not say anything  Lips sealed and smile inside knowing that most of their dressage mounts carry TK blood back in their pedigree.  Cool

I understand about the DQ's --at a clinic last fall, two of the local DQ's were saying how they would never have Tks. One had one in her earlier years and would never have another one. (don't know what happened there). Anyway, they say mine are nice, but they would never have one.

Then the premier DQ (of the two) went on to talk about the three new Hano babies she had just bought. What wonderful movers, outstanding personalities, etc. Lovely babies.  First day I kept my mouth shut.

Second day, the same conversation to anyone who would listen -- Wayne was in the ring riding our newly under saddle Donnie boy out of our Justiz mare. "Well he is built like a dressage horse, lovely boy, but I'll never have another Tk. I won't even take one in from a boarder."

I couldn't take it anymore. Dare I say the devil made me do it? Anyway, I ever so sweetly asked who she said her babies were by ( knowing full well she had bragged about the "famous" stallion the day before).

"Oh, it's Contucci. He's wonderful. These are terrific babies."

I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. "Well, I hate to be the one to tell you this and remember, don't kill the messenger."

I certainly had her attention. Her face was so intense.

"It's too late, you already have Tks in your barn. You own them. You might want to check Contucci's pedigree. He's by Caprimond -- full Tk."

I thought she was going to choke and have a heart attack right there.

She still has her babies and she still speaks to me, even seems to like me and our babies more.

Congrats on your lovely boy and keep on showing them how it can be with a Tk.

Too funny.  I have had some similar comments when riding at my trainers about "beautiful Tks, but I'd never own one."  I took my new girl over for a couple sessions and one of the more opinionated people said oh finally you have a Hanoverian, she's lovely.  I didn't handle it quite a gracefully as you did, but did try to promote that the beautiful head wasn't from Hanoverian lines....but was 100% Tk, just the Hanoverians like her daddy a lot.....LOL

Contucci also has Abglanz in the mother line so he is more than half Trakehner.
