Hey folks, you may have noticed a new link on the navigation bar and text links at the top and bottom of the page, so I figured I would clue you in on what that is about.
Since the inception of the forums I have received inquiries from a lot of our members about helping to financially support the forum. In the early stages the expense was negligible, other than my zillions of hours trying to get it up and running and keep it there, with moderate success at the moment. However, as our membership grows so will our bandwidth consumption.
We are having exponential growth here in the last month or so which I think is awesome! The idea behind TT is to be a real Trakehner information hub. The institution of the forums was the first step to test the waters and get the area established. But that should be only the first step. My "vision", to be grandiose, is to have at TT informational articles, advertising, farm/member profile articles, and all sorts of other information related to Trakehners globally. Sort of a community-built "e-zine" of sorts. I also have approached Marisa about temporarily hosting her Trakehners.com site so that all of her years of work in researching stallions was again available. I think it would help to stimulate Trakehner folks as a community to have such a resource.
At any rate, that is the long-term goal and I will work toward those various features as I see that enough people are interested in them to merit the endeavors.
So, to respond to all who have so generously offered financial assistance, and as opposed to just setting out a "tip jar" here , I have set up the new link. If you follow that link, you will find links to various businesses that provide products and services for the equestrian circle. If you patronize those businesses by going through the links from TT, the sponsors will "kick back" a small percentage of the purchase which will go to financing expansion at TT.
Please don't feel that there is any pressure. This simply occured to me as a painless way that members can support this Trakehner project when they do what they would anyway, SHOP. And it gives those who want to help out, and who have offered to help out, a method of doing so.
So, if you ever shop online for anything, and frequent businesses like Jeffers, just use the links on that page to get there and you will be helping TT out without doing another thing. Everything from a new Smartpak subscription to horse trailering can apply, so if you are looking to buy something for your horses it is likely represented on the list.
I invite comments on this new arrangement and on the future expansion of TT from you guys. Tell me what you want.
Have a Happy Holiday season ...
Only 17 shopping days left!

Hi there,
Why don't you also set up a Pay Pal account as a "tip jar", that way some money can go directly to a TT account? Most people that shop online have a third party payment method and it would so easy to drop a few bucks by every once in awhile. I think it could really help out with expenses.
just a thought, Melissa
