The selections for the Neumünster stallion approvals are underway in Germany. Please keep in mind that all have to pass the vet check before they can finally be accepted. To view initial list, go to: www.trakehners-international.com. We will update as list w/new colts as it expands.
Some interesting initial selections include full brothers to Buddenbrock, Münchhausen, Donauzar, Le Rouge, Kapriolan F and Kaiserkult & Kaiserdom.

You can expect the same extensive, all English catalogue from us as we did last year. And I can almost guarantee, we'll "beat" the Verband again
In more of a shameless brag, sometime during the night from monday to tuesday next week, TI will get a substantial face lift. I recommend heavy visiting (sorry Ingrid, too tempting...)

S, glad you visit our site everyday - can't tell you how many people tell us the same thing (in the U.S. and other countries) which is of course why we developed it!
M, if they select the Olga's colt (after Oliver Twist's premium and now Orissa's Pr.St. status), won't that qualify her to be nominated for Elite status?

Actually, selection means nothing. A mare can have 10 sons selected and that won't help her "status". Olga is already elite though.

Lauren,
I have only heard from others about the full brother to Herzensdieb. Plainer in the face was what they said, not as extravagant in his front end, but maybe better from behind. We shall see

Thanks for the update, Sally!
How interesting...without having seen any of this, or even looked at the catalog pictures...finally we have Lauries Crusader blood...and what became of all of the sons of Cadeau that were selected?
I saw on the Verband site that the auction of the stallions will be available by live stream (check http://www.trakehneronline.com/) tomorrow, at 1 o'clock Germany time (I think they are on the same schedule as most of the US, as far as Daylight Saving Time goes, so I THINK that would be 7 am EST). I caught just a bit of the mare auction today and the video quality was quite good, opening up right in Media Player so it could even be viewed at 200% and still look decent.

It is on now - they are on the riding horses, stallions were just finishing when I clicked on. Did I hear right that the Solero son was bought by an American? (number 55, I think that his name was Maxwell). It is hard to keep track and hear - the sound keeps breaking up and starting/starting. I think that there was a stallion that sold for 120,000 Euro also? Very handsome guy for sure, and I didn't catch his name at all. All very exciting for sure!

Some very high prices paid this year:
Champion Stallion (Songline) - 320.000 euros (Canada)
Reserve CH./Best jumper (Donaugold) - 100.000 euros (Great Britain)
High-price mare was the 2 y.o.Gute Nacht - 65.000 euros.
One stallion was sold to the U.S. - #6 Ballzauber, a dark bay Axis - E.H. Itaxerxes son.

Does anyone know who bought the Axis son? How about the stallion bought by someone in the US? All very exciting.

I am getting ready to fly back to the US tomorrow. HUGE report with pis on TI to follow once I touch ground.
Yes indeed, Darren went wild and bought no 6 "Ballzauber". We LOVED him. One of themost athletic colts of the crop. He'll be in Germany for a year, and then come to the US. Super colt.
The champion wasn't mine. Big question mark int he construction of his hind end. The res champion was a top horse in every respect and had an exceptional jump too. My champion was the Lauries colt. WOW.
The two best jumpers didn't make it, or better, one was asked back: the Enim Pascha son Lowlander, and Dynamik's 3/4 brother Döblin (asked back).
All in all, we hardly ever saw such outstanding free jumping as this year. The crop was good. I also was in love with all 3 K2 sons. What a great second crop for K2 in NMS. It was about time for that Anglo blood!
Kim, Okavango was very nice. Deserved his approval and premium. I was very happy for the Ruprechts. They say hi!
The mares were just simply breathtaking, but then, that can be said of every year. The quality was super. And I was drunk for most of saturday night because my dear friend and partner, Kerstin Aronis, and myself, went completely nuts and bought #88 Iskander, the top selling foal for 25K Euro. We shall see....

Maren,
Congrats on your new purchase. Sounds like a good reason to "imbibe" to me. Like Oakstable, the auctions sound like very dangerous places. In fact, I worry that a friend would say "Beckie went wild!!!" I know too many people who went to watch and came back owning a stallion!
Glad the crop is good. Cannot wait for pics.

Congratulations, Maren!!
Hope you are bringing pics to the ATA meeting!!
Sounds like we have lots of new horses to celebrate. Congrats to all.
And like the others -- pics are expected.
Enjoy your new "babies"

Here is a link to the article comparing Russian Trakehners to German Trakehners. In her opinion German Trakehners don't fare so well if I am interpreting what she has to say correctly. I hope Maren joins in on this discussion.
