TANZBRISE by Windfall out of Tariana
|
We've been recuperating for a couple days from all of the action on Sunday!
At 9:30 a.m., Itanika delivered ITALIA DORATA ("Golden Italia"), a palomino Anglo-Trakehner filly by Guaranteed Gold. Dory is our first filly for the year, and our first palomino with the potential to be ATA breeding stock!
At 9:30 p.m., Tara vom Castell produced TARANTINO, an elegant BLACK colt by Windfall *Pg.* Our first black foal ever, perhaps because the colt is already owned by someone else
Congratulations to the baby boy's new owner, Heidi Lightle, and to Alexandra Fischer of Germany who won the Baby Pool for Dory!

TANZBRISE by Windfall out of Tariana

Thanks you guys
It was SO nice to sleep after all of this foal watching business...now a few weeks before number 5 is ready!
Dory's name (her REAL name, not "Dory," not "Dora the Explorer," not "Dorito"... ) "Italia Dorata" means "Golden Italy." She is descended from the Italia 54 line (Ita - Italia, with Italia meaning "Italy") and is very stamped by all of her line that we have seen. And the "Golden" part, of course, comes from Daddy, so both parents are honored
Her mom is in ORB-A now, as she was just-turned three and not ready for prime time at the last inspection we attended. There are none close enough this year to merit hauling mom and the unweaned filly to, so maybe next year Twinks will go. But for now, Dory goes into OAB-D. When Itanika gets into the OSB, Dory will transfer into OAB-B, and then she will be eligible for PSB when she is of age. And the rest, as they say, is history
Unless someone changes the rules again, anyway.

Yay!!! on your gorgeous black colt and Ingrid - man - what a stunning filly you got as well!
And I am SO pleased for you that you DID actually get a paly filly as I know how much you were coveting one!
She looks like she is going to be so tall as well once she comes up on those long legs of hers!
A huge congrats - wonderful news!

Hope we got the questions answered over there, Donna.
Thank you everyone for the kind words! I am very proud of our babies
I finally finished web pages for each of the new crumbsnatchers, with some more pictures. Of course, these kids grow so fast my pictures are almost out of date...
But all I am missing is a video of Tarantino. We never had to deal with pix and video of black horses, and I am having a tough time with getting the right lighting.
Anyway, here are the new kids:
www.atrakehner.com/italiadorata.html www.atrakehner.com/tarantino.html
And all of the babies' pages are linked from our foal page:

Ohh! I've been dying for a palomino filly ever since I could tell the difference between a palomino and a bay... I love "Dory" already. She's aDORable!

Wow, Ingrid, busy day. And super kids! It does make the foal watch a bit more efficient, though, and there's a lot to be said for that, having been up almost every night for a month with my one little wench, who is on the s#&* list until I get a filly.
Anyhow, CONGRATS!

Per several requests, most of the registration-eligibility stuff in this thread has been moved over to a new thread:
This link will open it in a new window,
http://www.atrakehner.com/yabbs/index.php/board,20/topic,1707.9.html#msg10984
or you can just go over to this board and topic

Ingrid, have you taught your mares about time management? They learned well. The foals are beautiful. I'd be tempted to hold off weaning Tarentino until maybe well, forever. . he's so gorgeous. You're really getting into this colt thing! Your little golden girl is a real knock-out too.

She's beautiful! I've never seen a palomino with darker legs, though! Maybe she'll start a new color pattern.
