Help us welcome into the world, Mahalaleel's Amazing Faith. We were thankful to God for letting us be present for the blessed event as our first Trakehner mare gave life to Faith. We managed to take photos as the loving filly was being born. We are so proud of Ella, she is such a trooper and looks like she is going to be a great mama. I know most mares do not like folks around while they birth, though we know Ella very well, and I had a feeling she'd want me there, and as it unfolded...it almost seems like she waited for me.
All these days I have been watching her and praying that God would let us be present for the blessed event, and at 3:30 this morning, for the first time, I grabbed a book and quilt, and headed out to the barn. She had been showing signs of she was getting close to foaling for days and I had only been doing the 2 hour check thing. This time I decided to grab the Joyce Meyer book & quilt and stay the rest of the morning with her. Me, the cat and the quilt...snuggle up to read in the cushy lawn chair...though it wasn't to be. Ella seemed to be waiting for me and stretched, something was different so I went back into the house to change out of p.j.'s and wake Jim. I told Jim he had better come out..."I think it's time."... as soon as I returned to our humble little stable, Ella looked at me again and her water broke, now I turned and stood outside the barn and loudly called to Jim he'd better hurry or he'd miss the whole thing! The whitesh/blue sac balloned out slightly (just like in the photos I'd seen!) Within probably 15 minutes Ella delivered a healthy filly. Jim did a great job helping her, and we both felt so happy to share this moment together... it has been a lifelong dream for us...and I am so happy to see the lines of Carino*E* and Horizon together. We had decided long before Faith was born that if it were a mare, we'd keep her. So happy to welcome Faith to our home!

Thanks Ingrid & Equine-Lover, I deleted two of the older photos, since there is a link to them on our site anyway! And added a face close-up, so you could see her "doe eyes" she is a sweetie, and we are so happy to finally have our very own foal by Shad. (Karino's Fire) Our plans were at first for her to simply do some Sport Horse in Hand Classes, and to breed her...though after watching this one canter around...I'm thinking she will be a dressage horse, too. Day 1 outside, she pretty much slept, though day two she was practicing the *most* beautiful/lovely slow & rythmical 180 degree canter pirouettes...amazing... yesterday she was practing canter-halt canter-halt over and over...she truely looked like she was practicing! Today it is simply "I can run run run" and being a bit braver about going a bit farther from mom than usual.....We love her...she truly is amazing. Now everytime I say she is amazing...Jim always says, well...that is her middle name! (it was his idea to put 'amazing' in her name) Sorry to ramble...it has been a long wait to see her, in a way you could say it has been all my life~ I feel like breaking out in a ballad of "Isn't she Lovely"~
