We had our 6th foal this evening... another bay filly! This little girl is by Bel Espace Go, out of Tropenperle by Tempelritter. Bel Espace is also the sire of Sidney's filly (the only chestnut of the year).
This birth was a first for us... Tropic delivered her filly while she was standing! I've heard of mares doing this but never experienced it first-hand. Everything was fine and we were able to direct the new arrival to the ground without mishap. I was a dirty mess when it was all over, though. Photos coming soon.

First, a big congratulations! Was Tropic showing signs of impending birth? Your going to have to read her the book on "normal delivery and birth for a mare." I guess you were a mess if you had to catch the baby. I hope Tropic at least stood still for you.

Congrats, again, Heather! Six fillies, unbelievable... almost makes up for the last sleepless week we spent phoning back and forth on foal watch!
Let's see some pix!

If you picked up some water from Ingrid, I think you could have shared. some of us can't get a filly to save our souls. And you have an over abundance. If you decide you have too many, I'll take any one or more off your hands -- I'll be on the road in a flash to come get her(them).
Congratulations and would like to see pics. Eileen

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping for fillies for everyone that wants them. I'm sure that I'll be having colts for the next 3 year after this season!
Oakstable: For frozen we are breeding 1 dose post ovulation and for fresh we breed and the mares are scheduled to ovulate that evening (usually within 10-16 hours after insemination). We give deslorelin once the mares reach a 35-40 mm or greater follicle with appropriate edema and haven't had many problems with this protocol.
Suzette: That is it! We are done until next February!
I finally took some photos of our youngest little girl! She is a doll and one of those sweet souls that lets you pick up all of her feet and legs while she is laying down. I haven't tried yet, but I think she'd let me turn her on her back with her feet straight up in the air! Here she is at 2 weeks:
