First Kreshendo filly of the year!

This is "Priceless", bay filly by Kreshendo out of Pennant's Valentine by Pennant, born 4/5/06.
She had a rough start -born 10 days early - totally unexpected. Mom gave us no warning, and foaled outside on the limestone, squeezing her out under a fence... ugh. It was several hours before we found her, and she was very scraped up, needed 20 stitches in her leg, and was too weak to stand.
Mom had worked herself into a total frazzle, a case of colic, and had to be kept tranquilized. I spent 48 hours in the stall, milking out mom and bottle feeding the baby til she was strong enough to nurse on her own.
Now she is healthy and strong, but all the bad scrapes and cuts will take a lot of time and work to fix.
But she is Priceless!  A beautiful, feminine filly, with very, very lovely conformation - she is going to be stunning!

Luckily, #3 was pretty textbook, and am waiting on # 4 now. Hopefully, we have used up all the so-called "luck" already!

Congratulations!  She's lovely!  Glad everything worked itself out ok.  My neighbor had one that was popped out on the wrong side of the fence last year.  Very scarey.

Congratulations Suzette, I'm really glad she's doing well.  This seems to be the year of the early foals.  We've had 2 early ones so far - the filly's doing well, the colt's still struggling.  You end up loving the ones you fight for the most too...

What a beginning!  I agree w/Kari . . . it's the ones that struggle & overcome we wind up having a 'soft spot' for.  Let us know how Priceless is doing (and Kari, keep us posted on your boy, too).

I thought you might like an update on our little "hard luck case".. Here she is at 1 month old. No worse for all the problems! She is strong and healthy and VERY beautiful. A real princess!
