TANZBRISE by Windfall out of Tariana

I am extremely happy to announce the safe delivery on May 19 of a new chestnut colt by Sonset's Sieger out of Tarika by Kaspareit!
The photos are of him at one day.
We now have had as many colts this year as we have had since we started this Trakehner adventure!

Thanks every one!
We decided this morning to name him "Traverse Red", for several reasons. One, it reflects our geoography in the Grand Traverse Bay area. Two, he is red  Three, "Sweet Traverse Red" is a favorite libation from one of our local wineries--pleasant, very smooth, and delightful  (It's one that is reasonably priced and so good that the Germans carry some back home with them when they visit here...http://www.cgtwines.com/wine_family.php?id=2 if anyone has an interest ).
For some reason, my mom wanted to call him Toby. By a six degrees of separation-style twist, even that fit... Seabiscuit's jockey, Red Pollard, was played by Tobey Maguire in the movie.
And yes, "Tobey" has two matching high whites in the back, no white on his fronts, and a big blaze. He will be a flashy guy with those "natural polos" on his hind hoppers!
So we celebrated by enjoying a bottle of baby's namesake vintage

Seems to be quite a few red headed boys this year. Welcome to my world of colts. I keep saying I want a filly -- need one to carry on the line, but I do love the boys. They are so -------boyish!!
He looks gorgeous, beautiful markings. Like the name, too. Even went out to the site for the vineyard -- sounds good, too.
