I love Trakehners!
|
I found this mare on an obscure site. She is located near Newton, New Jersey, and looks very sweet:
Sobutka - 18 year old 16hh Trakehner mare trained in eventing and dressage. Sweet disposition (not at all marish) with nice flowing gaits by the imported Polish stallion Sobek. Boo does best with an intermediate rider as she is sensitive on the bit and very well trained and experienced. She is extremely comfortable to ride and available for adoption to the right person, and we would also consider an on-site lease for her.
On the ad she was priced LOW with an adoption fee of $300 (yes, $300). Here is thelink to the adoption website:

You know, I really shouldn't read anything about mares needing homes. I wish I had the funds, because I surely have the space--over 40 acres of pasture. Darn! Darn! Darn!

I LOVE Trakehners!

Just in case anyone is interested, I stumbled on this information about this mare's pedigree:
Her sire Sobek is by Fresk, a fiery red chestnut stallion who is the only Polish Trakehner horse listed among the top ten producers of event horses, the remaining nine being thoroughbreds. Fresk's dam's sire, Rumian, is the son of Rittersporn, the originator of famous European jumping lines. Rittersporn is by St Saulge. He sired female jumpers Warszawianka and Wizja, both becoming Olympic mounts. His three most significant stallions were Rumian, Rybak and Ramzes. The line produced by Ramzes is legendary today with one of the greatest descendents being Ramiro. Sobek also descends from Bafur who produced three stallions who competed in the Olympic Military event including Arlekin II who won the Silver Medal. Sobek's dam is Sobietaka, thought to be one of the most valuable mares in Trakehner breeding in Poland. Sobietaka produced three colts who won gold medals in the national stallion competitions and who became head stallions at state studs.
[color=Black] The mare Sobutka is still available. She's been abused in the past, but is being ridden now. Anyone interested in jumping bloodlines?? CINDY
