Connie West's mare, Mixta (Erszand - Condus *E*) had a filly last night. Her e-mail is pasted below:
Devon gave birth to a black, not one white marking on her, filly at just past midnight. My husband had the first watch, when he awoke me I just started throwing clothes on in a daze. I have had no more than three hours of straight sleep for about a week. I could not believe how fast Devon broke her water, had the feet out , the little nose out and then walked around a bit and settled down. I had the vet on the phone and said should I pull (and I did when she did) and in a matter of seconds this little one came into the world. This filly was up on her feet within 20 minutes or less. Not only on her feet but trotting around the stall. She found the nipple in about 2 hours, nickered and I can not explain the joy. This has to be a Taz in duplicate. I will send pictures
soon.
Congratulations to Connie, Mixta and the as yet unnamed new baby girl Trakehner.

It's actually Taz's 2nd filly, but first full TK. Last year he had one out of a TB/Shire mare. Ziggy's now 1 yr. old (got a recent pic; isnt' she cute?

This falls under, whoops . . . I spoke too soon category. Here's the e-mail I received tonight from Connie (titled "Don't check the sex when you have had no sleep"):
opps. Guess what, Roger and I just checked on the liitle one and the foal pee'd for us. I looked at Roger and said how did she do that. Well she did it the way a good "Boy" does. I do not know how I missed it, we had the flashlight out and sure enough anatomicaly, this foal is a boy! I could of sworn when I gave that enema I was looking at the back side of a filly, but what do I know? He is still the greatest and we will love him just as much. Monty is cheering I know.
I will down load the pic's tomorrow.
Now if I could I would name him Tom Foolerly
Well, I guess the blue text of her initial e-mail was the right color! Any ideas of "M" names for this little trickster?
