We're very pleased to share that our stallion, Happy Hour, had a great day at Devon in his first in-hand classes in 18 months. He earned a Reserve Champion and Champion with quite nice scores (77.1, 79.1) and excellent comments from the judge - receiving an overall score of "8." Our sincere thanks goes to Russell Oden, Happy's handler, who is not only a super fellow to work with, but who has that "touch" with horses of all ages. He and Happy really "click."
What was so nice was that during these classes (and most of the day, but it would not be "Devon" without at least one torrential downpour...), it was cool, windy and pouring rain. Many other horses (and humans) were acting wild and crazy. Happy was as "cool as a cucumber" and such a gentleman. We received lots of lovely compliments from both Trakehner and non-Trakehner people - and I think we even converted a few of those non-Trekkies out there.
This year, we could only compete one day due to obligations at home, but next year, we plan to compete in more classes and take a few "happy" babies along...

Renee and Happy!
Congratulations! Sounds like you had a great time!
I hope my work commitments will allow me to get to Devon next year (and who knows, maybe even the ATA annual meeting)! If I do, I could help out as a general "go-fer" if you need one!
