I LOVE Trakehners!
|
Looking for help. I have a 4 year old gelding out of Impressionist by Danke and need some help finding an appropriate saddle. He has outgrown his current saddle, a Prestige, and I am hoping someone can suggest a dressage saddle that works well with Trakehners. Any comments or advice would be appreciated.

It's not a matter of a good saddle for Trakehners. It's a matter of a saddle fitting his back type (wide, narrow, how much wither). If you can try friends' saddles (or your trainer's saddle(s) you may be able to find what you need. Or try used saddles for sale in your area in order to find what you need before sinking too many $$ in buying new ones and having to return them. Yes, you can get trial saddles and get your $$ back, but the repeated shipping can get salty and be a pain. Best wishes with your search.

The best saddle that I have found that fits a variety of backs, including growing ones are the Grand Gilbert or the Antares or Hermes. Money is well placed in these for their wide use, at least in my experienxe. Good luck
