Our newest foals have arrived... Victree (Kaspareit - Pregelstrand) had a large dark bay filly by Kostolany on April 16th.

Kalliste (Amadeus - Schwalbenfreund) foaled a lovely bay turning gray colt by Leonidas on April 20th.  Due to foaling complications we had to put her down less than 12 hours later.  The colt is doing okay, please keep your fingers crossed that everything continues that way.

Omigosh, Heather, I'm so sorry about your mare!  Have you been able to find a nurse mare?  Here's a website to look at, or perhaps a local vet can help. http://www.cyberfoal.com/res-maresavail.htm
Best wishes for your new colt.

Thanks everybody!  The little guy is doing very well and loves his bucket!  He's already gaining weight and as cute as can be.  If anyone has any K colt name ideas, I'd love to hear them!

Oh Heather!  My condolences on the loss of your mare  Cry but am SO happy to hear her son is thriving.  Will put my thinking cap on - he deserves a very special name.

I'm so sorry about Kalliste but am glad her colt is thriving.  The bucket brigade routine can be really tiring - but you do end up with a really special relationship with those bucket babies!!!  Our thoughts are with you and the colt!

I can't wait to see these newest babies, Heather, but was so sorry to hear about your loss of Listy. I know that this was to be her last foal, before a well-earned retirement at pasture on your new farm. It is so hard to lose such a wonderful mare. I am happy you have her daughter, Kalua, to carry on for her.

Sorry to read about the loss of your Amadeus mare.

How many foals has she had?

How old was she?

I always worry about these older girls.

Looking forward to photos of the little guy.

I would also like to add my condolences, it sounds like such a risky business!  I go back and forth on whether to breed Holly or just buy another Trakehner when I "need" a third horse!  Since I'm boarding, it would actually cost approximately the same either way.

Wow, that is one of the leggiest babies I have ever seen.

Any more to come?

Good to see your young man is doing so well -- such a face.  Maybe Kaptivation for a name-- his face is captivating to me!-- I'm not always the best at names.  I'm looking for an A name for a Donaufurst filly out of a part Arab mare by Martini, myself -- and have been thinking for a while -- shows how strong I am (not) in that suite.

He is a handsome colt.
Congrats, again,

Here are a few photos of our Kostolany filly, out of Victree by Kaspareit!  She is about 1 month in these photos.
