I am new to California.  I just moved to Palm Springs a week and a half ago.  Anyone else from around this area?  I'd love to meet some Trakehner people. Smiley

My horses are to follow, hopefully sooner rather than later.  I have to get them here as soon as possible because I want them to acclimate to the heat here over time.

Amy,

We're only about 5 hours from Palm Springs here in Buckeye (most people in Phoenix consider Buckeye East L.A., anyway!  I don't know who might be in your exact area, but a few farms to visit/people to meet in the Southern California area... Hilda Gurney's Keenridge, Steve and Mary Jenson at Auffinger Farm, Gretchen Lasiter among many others!

Hi Amy!

Welcome to sunny (this week) California!  Grin  We are about 2 hours away from Palm Springs and would love to meet you and would of course be happy to show our "kids" off to you anytime you find yourself in our area.  Gretchen Lasater is about an hour South of us.  Makes for a nice day trip! Wink

Welcome again and we hope you enjoy it here!

So far, I really like it here.  I LOVE the weather, coming from Maryland, I have learned to appreciate nice warmer (for now) weather.  I know it gets pretty darn hot though, but I think I can handle it, I hope my horses can.

I will CERTAINLY come visit both of you.  Heather, you know I am dying to me you and your "crew".  You may have to kick me out though. Grin

Mary, well jeez, you are just a hop, skip and jump away from me.  As soon as I get settled here, I will most certainly come for a visit.  I'd love to get to know the Trakehner breeders and lovers around me.

I'd love for you guys to see my Frodo in the flesh.  It has to be  when he is not in an odd growth stage though.  Roll Eyes  Surely Bugs would love to meet some more people who would admire her feminine beauty and give her treats.  Wink

Well, as California goes, I'm not that far from you, but then again, I'm not too close.

I'm in Central CA, about 3 1/2 hrs north of LA. (And 3 1/2 hours south of San Francisco.)

So should you be on your way up the State (like to Yosemite,) you are also very welcome to visit. We're 6 miles from the entrance to the Sequoia National Park where the Giant Sequoia Forest is.

(Letter X in my new arena has a great view of the snow-capped Sierras).

I made the trip to So Cal with everyone in Feb. for the TI Tour, so I've met some of your neighbors. You are in great company.

Enjoy California and welcome !

Amy, although I live in the Seattle area, I often visit the Palm Desert area in the winter to see my Mom who winters there. I also of course try to take in the shows in Indio at the same time! I didn't make it down this year (yet) but I'll make sure to let you know if I am in town.

We're in Redlands just off I-10. And my mare Lucy Mae is boarded on the Eastern edge of Banning if you want to go visit her and her son, Lyrric.

Pam Duffy is in Temecula. She has an Amiego mare and a couple of other Trakehners.
