Well I just stumbled upon this board. Very nice! I have a just turning 4 yr old Trak/QH mare, Hollywood, she is by Hannibal. Just starting her under saddle, she grew so much in the last couple yrs, about 6" per year so I waited to start her. She just reached 16 hh and seems to be growing upwards again!
So far she is taking it all in stride.
I've had a lil to do with Trakehners thanks to a good friend of mine raising Trakehners, she is the proud owner of Bonn. He stands up here in Manitoba.

But well it is just really nice to find a board dedicated to Traks!

Welcome!  Trakehners are wonderful, aren't they?  And yep, your girl is probably putting on another growth spurt.  I sold a mare at age 5, height 15.3, and at age 6 she was 16.1.  Smiley

Welcome to the board!  And thanks for the little encouragement...I was hoping for a little more
height out of both my four year olds, sounds
like it could still be in there!?  Shocked

I'm really curious, I have one friend that keeps telling me my mare has big ears, and that in order to "grow" into them she'd have to be about 17 hh. Undecided... now she usually says this with a smile, but it is bugging me since to my mind my mares ears aren't overly large! and since she is still steadily growing i don't pay to much attention... Lately my comment is "all the better to listen to me with"
Also i think my mare is well built but really, i'm used to Morgans, tb's(old style) and paints, so not really sure if what i see is actually good for a TK or TK cross... Huh
http://community.webshots.com/scripts/editPhotos.fcgi?action=viewall&albumID=154520242 that is where i have pictures of her, if anyone could look at them and maybe tell me what they think? She has an awesome personality and i think she is pretty good conformationally. When she is working and building muscle i hope she'll be a "showstopper" Cheesy

I clicked on the links and Webshots won't let me look at it.  Apparently you don't have the album open for public viewing.

Well i haven't been on here alot lately finishing up school for the term and doing some horse stuff. I'v ejust gotten my newest ride, a 10 yr old 16.2hh dark bay Trakehner Gelding, Rubel(Carino son out of a approved tb mare) Wonderful ride and sweet temperament. He is trained to a higher level than i've ridden in years. He was being trained up to prelim eventing and i haven't competed that big in a very long while. does awesome dressage also.. actually we have our first show on June 11th, dressage.! Riding him is great, we really connect and work well together it is wonderful Grin

These are the pictures i have of him.. he is rather photogenic at times.

http://photobucket.com/albums/v302/Kobau/Rubel/ I don't look great in some pictures, a/p saddle is a fraction to small and so it made it near impossibel to sit right... but Rubel looks good Smiley

I really like your boy!  Congratulations.  Is that you riding him @ the water jump?  Keep us updated on your progress; always great to have another eventing TK!

I wish that was me putting him to the water jump! nope it is my good friend, his previous owner. He and I are just starting to really mesh, been together just over a year and he already seems to consider me his human! Roll Eyes
I'm searching for a good eventing coach where i am. Manitoba, Canada, not having any real luck it seems..  Sad But so far we are concentrating on the dressage aspect, we actually have our first show together on the 11th of june, going traing 4 and first 1&2... and schooling jumping here at home, just lil stuff till we are working really well together! and until i'm back in the swing of it all! heheh He was schooling Prelim level before i got him, so now i have to work up to his level!

I'm so happy to have found a Trak board! much more welcoming than some other boards!
