I don't have all the news but can announce that two colts were approved.
Of special interest to MidWest Trakehner members is the approval of Timotheus (Caprimond x Tapferkeit, Avignon II).
Tapferkeit is a mare from the midwest breeding program of Ricarda Barton, a long time MWT member and supplier of top quality foundation stock to our members. Tapferkeit is the daughter of Ricarda's riding mare Tjabine. Tapferkeit was owned by Barb Iwinski, a founding member of MWT who bred her to Graditz to produce the elite mare Taurose *E*. Tapferkeit was sold to the Cornelison's of Rolling Oaks Farm who owned two of Tapferkeit's daughters and produced a couple of foals before moving out west and producing for her new owner Bonnie Brabbs who produced Timotheus from imported frozen semen. Bonnie's website http://www.chezrisette.com/ has more information.
The next approved colt was Kobra von C (Gribaldi x Komtess R by Roots xx). Kobra was bred in Denmark and is owned by Cindy Frantz. Kobra is related to the newly approved Kougar von C as Komtess is the grand-dam of Kougar as well. Gribaldi is also the sire of Kougar. Obviously I can't gush about an MWT connection here and I don't know any personal information behind this colt but obviously a good family . Now there are two Gribaldis available here in the States. website: http://www.krugerranch.com/files/kobravonc.htm
