New colt

I know this is a Trakehner forum, but my mare, who I will be breeding back immediately to a Trakehner, just delivered a beautiful little Oldenburg colt. After seeing this colt, I'm excited about breeding her to a TK. If anyone wants to see him, here's the link.

Congratulations!! He is adorable. All that leg and a face to go with it. Mom is very nice and looks to be a great mother. Does he have a name yet?

Thanks! No name yet. It probably should start with a W, but I have no ideas. Right now he's just "baby" or "the colt".
Mom, who evented through Preliminary, will be bred to Feuertanzer this year, and hopefully to Tzigane next year.

Walloon is by Welt Hit II (Old by Weltmeyer [Hann]) out of a Vollkorn(xx) mare. Three generations back, the stallions are (top to bottom) World Cup I (Hann), Hill Hawk (xx), Neckar (xx), and Cato (Old).
His dam has some interestinig bloodlines as well. Tudor Minstrel,My Babu, and The Tetrarch, as well as other French, English, and Irish Thoroughbreds.

I LOVE "first Hello" and "Peeking" photos. His off-center star is wonderful. Congratulations on a healthy baby! Have you decided on a name yet?

One suggestion I got was "Warlock's Cape". Any other suggestions gladly received! It's would be a lot easier if I could use a C name (from his mom). All kinds of options there. Still no barn name yet, but I'm sure something will suggest itself soon.
It's been 3 years since I had a foal around. How did I ever stand it? They are so much FUN!

I can't resist...after looking at the beautiful TK foals posted in the past few weeks, here's my colt at 3 months. He's already spoken for, and I'm looking forward to rebreeding my TB mare in the spring. I bred her to Feuertanzer, but unfortunately, she didn't settle. (Of course, that means I get to ride her for the next year. <g>)

He really is kissable. I can just put my hand under his nose, lift his face, and kiss his soft little nose, and he loves it!
I am sooo pleased with this colt, that I can't wait to rebreed my mare to a Trakehner stallion next year.
