This morning we hugged our Diva goodbye...
« on: September 25, 2004, 12:00:35 PM »

I can hardly believe that our girl has left, the first of our babies to head to the west coast.  We are so excited for her, and she is going to a wonderful home, but it was so darned sad to see her go!  Cry

She loaded wonderfully and seemd happy to settle in to her hay net in her travel accomodations.  I think she will have a good trip, but don't think the stallion stalled next to her will have a very restful one!  Diva's looks don't appeal only to humans--she was one of only two of our girls here who drive the boys wild, ALL the time  Roll Eyes

As many times as I've sent a horse off to a new home, knowing it was a home where they'd be loved and appreciated, it still pulls when they leave.  It does make you wonder, doesn't it, why we do this?

I am so happy that Diva found a home... I am so NOT happy that it wasn't mine.   She is such a lovely girl and I know it must have been hard to say good bye.   I hope she is happy in her new home, I just wish it was here on the EAST coast, so atleast I MIGHT run into her at a show.  Wink  This dashes my dreams of magically coming into money somehow so that I could buy her.  Roll Eyes  Good luck Miss Diva and congratulations!

We just got word that Diva finally made it to her new home.  She was stuck in Colorado Springs on a layover from Monday through Friday!  But she is none the worse for wear...  Wink  Her new daddy loves her and promised pictures.  Hopefully I will be able to report on great accomplishments from our little girl!   Grin

I am sure you will.  She is such a lovely and classy girl.  She will be sure to "show 'em how it's done." Wink

WHAT A LOVELY MARE!  I said "goodbye" forever to my old, wonderful mare, Saska, a few months ago who was as beautiful as your girl!  I couldn't help but cry when I set eyes upon Diva.  I wish they could be with us FOREVER!  Again, what a gorgeous Trakehner mare -- LOVE THOSE TRAKS!  I hope she is with people who love her as much as we loved our mare.  I am hooked on Trakehners!

Thanks, Saska!

Diva has found what I believe to be her perfect home!  Her new owner absolutely loves her and sends me updates several times a week, which unfailingly brighten the day for all of us here at Tannenwald and certain members of the "Diva Fan Club"  Wink  Diva's trainer is enamored and continually praises her ability and progress.  Max finally told his family that he bought a horse (a big surprise for his wife, and an exceedingly happy one for his three kids!) and they are all smitten with her and her "Bambi eyes."  Max says she drives a little Morgan stallion at the barn crazy every time she walks by  Grin

A couple of weeks ago Max told me that Diva had acquired a new famous friend.  Actress Alex Kingston (Dr. Corday on "ER") met Diva and could not visit with her enough, later calling Max to tell him again what a wonderful, beautiful horse she is.

Max plans to breed Diva by embryo transfer and is presently investigating the Haemelschenburg stallions, favoring Freudenfest.  He plans to go visit those boys on his next trip home.  I am excited to hear how that goes.

Diva participated in her first clinic this week with Christiane Noelting, and Max was very pleased to hear such positive feedback from her.

It seems like a very positive situation for all, and Diva is living a life true to her name.  This is one girl who is very cognizant of her noble Trakehner heritage!

WOW!  That is great news!  Ingrid, she has that "look" in her eyes, I saw it from the very beginning.  I fell in love with it.  I am so happy that she has found such a good home.  I am excited to hear about the embryo transfer.  Of course I love the stallions at Haemelschenburg, and certainly Freudenfest.  I would love to see the resulting foal.  Haemelschenburg is also home to Alter Fritz, whom I have been drooling over for a while now.  Thank you for the update on Diva!  I could not be happier for you or her.  (Well, I could if she were in MY barn  Wink )

Max took his first trail ride with Diva and everything was great.  I love these updates and how well she seems to be doing  Grin
