Performance Matters!

Got an e-mail from Maren & wanted to share an abbreviated(entire story w/extended pedigrees, competition/production histories will be on www.trakehners-international.com soon) version here. Last weekend she attended two foal inspections and sent her impressions.
First inspection was @ Schralling Stud (Hans-Ernst Wezel). This is the breeder of Peron TSF, Inster Graditz, Lowelas, etc. Maren wrote, "Wezel is known for his love of Russian and TB genes and is what I would call a true 'visionary'. He tries everything and is willing to run the risk."
Foals by Arcentango, Gelria & Inster Graditz.
The second foal inspection was @ Gestuet Seeor where she saw foals by Grafenstolz, Caprimond, Elfengeist, Polarpunkt, Finley M and King Arthur.
Overall impressions:
1. Russian horses (Arcentango) only work w/'blood', but then, tremendously well!
2. The frozen Gelria semen is a HUGE chance for TK breeders to finally access the Abglanz blood that the Hannoverians have been so successful with. Gelria, largely ignored during his life by TK breeders, is the closest we will ever come to the major blood of Abglanz (Gelria - Kassio - Abglanz). Now, 10 yrs. after his death Wezel is producing some amazing horses w/the last frozen doses (purchased from Celle)!
3. Elfengeist appears to nick well w/mares carrying some TB blood. Consistent producer of excellent back activity.
4. King Arthur. Better than his reputation. Outstanding foals & a consistent producer of correct hip/croup/hock/angles.
5. Grafenstolz. Produces athletes
